While searching through boxes in the hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, found a secret space-time sealing pattern made by the Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage. The purpose of the seal: to show someone's future. Hiruzen has a feeling that in the next few years, bad things will happen. The Hidden Leaf Village needs to prepare for what may happen, and he knows this is the perfect chance to do so. He also wants to know if the future if Konoha will be stable after any unfortunate events. With this in mind, he decides to summon the Konoha 12 and let them see their futures. The group of shinobi would be just the right age to be right in the middle of the action in the future, and with six of them being future clan heirs, one being the son of the previous branch leader of the Hyuga, one being the last remaining Uchiha, and one being the Kyuubi Jinchuriki and son of the Fourth Hokage, they would play key parts in the restoring the balance afterwards.
