Four years had passed since the death of Manny Noceda. Their mom, Camila, was struggling to get by, never home and constantly in and out of the hospital taking up shifts, the youngest daughter, Luz, was barely ever able to keep out of trouble at school and struggled to fit in, and the oldest, Lucía, was in constant arguments with her mom until she finally packed up all of her things in the night and ran away from home six months ago. The only thing left behind was a letter with the words "I'm making this house worse and worse" written in it. Now, Luz attending a "Reality Check Summer Camp" was supposed to make everything better, everything normal. But after running off that bus to camp to chase after her one prized possession, her Good Witch Azura book, one thing led to another and now she had ended up in some old, isolated, and hidden town named the "Boiling Isles." Everything had changed since the death of their papá. Balancing guilt, trying to conform, broken relationships, and more, it felt impossible. There were lies, secrets, and entire lives hidden from one another, and it was only a matter of time before something or someone finally unraveled it all. Before Luz left, an oath was made. An oath that made sure that Luz would come back soon and see Amity and everyone else. Amity Blight had been fed up with Luz Noceda, the human, but she doesn't know why. Despite getting into uncertain trouble whenever the human had been around her, Luz had never really done anything to get under Amity's skin. One day though, Amity had pushed it a bit too far, and it really got to Luz. The human had taken it as her leave and decided to give Amity some unwanted space. The witch hadn't meant to push her boundaries, but she really did not know what came over her. Thus, she turned her heel and walked herself home, feeling neglected with a sense of guilt as she slowly started to tear up. Had she messed things up with Luz? Will the human talk to her again after the words she had spit out? All these questions pooled around inside Amity's mind as she ran past, ignoring her parents and her siblings, jumping into bed and silently sobbing into her pillow. .. What if Luz WAS that certain lead singer/drummer and could also play the piano. What if Camilia never sent luz to camp and luz was supposed to be at a resort to hawaii for summer vacation. Luz was searching through the library looking for new fantasy books to read when she found a secret book hidden underneath one of the loose floorboards of the Library. Luz found a handful of glyphs in the book and found a glyph that could send her to the human realm and back to the boiling isles if wanted. Luz and her friends Gus, Willow, Amity, Viney, Jerbo, The blight twins, and (for some reason) Boscha all went to the human realm together due to the reason that Luzes friends were all curious what the human realm was like.
