Konstantin and Borisalv were once what you called typical young men. Growing up alongside each other from practically day one, they had quickly formed a connection deeper than brotherhood on the banks of the Volga river. Then, September hits, and the two young men are quickly drafted, and sent to the border with Germany in Poland, on guard until the day the bombers fly overhead. From there, they meet their squad, a group containing six other soldiers, who now fight and survive to the sunrise and sunset of each passing day in the shelled ruins of the city of Stalingrad. Life never turns out to be what you imagine from a young age, and the two of them quickly find out what happens when God turns his back on his own children, leaving them to starve, die, and burn in a city that was built by his children's corpses.
