To secure the future of the Order of the Miraculous the current Guardian, Master Fu, made a deal with the League of Assassins. The League insisted on solidifying the alliance, Master Fu was hesitant but agreed. Marinette was to be betrothed to the future leader of the League, Damian Al Ghul.
