Clay's world is determined by the color of the eyes. His green eyes make him a member of the weak and poor Vilis community, being there to serve the powerful Pretiosi. The Pretiosi- and only those- have incredible powers due to their extraordinary eye colors. The day when Clay loses his best friend, his life is about to change completely. He somehow gets to work in the great diamond castle of the Pretiosi royal family, where he meets the young Prince George who makes his heart beat faster and question his beliefs. But he also gets in contact with the dangerous Black Rebellion which is fighting against the Pretiosi Empire without mercy. During the roller coaster of emotions, Clay gets in huge danger when his enemies find out about his true eye color- and the power that comes with it. Soon he is forced to decide between his heart and his moral- betraying the one he loves or fighting for a better future for millions of people. Clay's mother, the Queen, refuses to let Clay go out of the castle borders and socialize. Safety risk, she says. As much as clay tries to convince her, the Queen stays persistent with her decision. However, as a reward for Clay's good behavior and grades, the Queen gives him a personal servant, George.

George was tired of life, everything had gone wrong, and it all became too much. The night he attempted to end it all, a familiar face pulled him away from the edge. "Seven days." "What?" George stared in confusion at the dirty blond, noticing the resolve in those striking green eyes. "Seven days to make you want to live." Dream smiled softly at George. "If I win, you have to give me seven reasons you want to stay alive." George blinked blankly at him. "And if you lose?" "Then I'll jump with you. We'll both end it together." George is homeless, with both of his parents having died when he was a boy. He manages to get by, still going to highschool and switching between sleeping at his friend's houses and on the streets. Clay is a star student, and well liked by both the teachers and kids. His parents, both being lawyers, are rich and highly respected. What happens when the two boys end up stuck in detention together?
