What if Acronix hadn't come back so soon after the day of the departed? What if before the ninja battle the 'hands of time' Jay discovers his true heritage? This story is an alternative plot (and the original plot) for Ninjago Generations that I ended up scrapping. All of the ninja's families are the same except for Lloyd's. Ryder is still his son, but his mother is Harumi, who survived the events of Hunted and tricked Lloyd into marrying her by pretending to change her ways. After their son was born, Harumi took the baby and tortured him until Lloyd came to his rescue. Now it's up to Lloyd to train Ryder to fight his mother, with the other ninja's kids as his protectors, can Ryder handle the responsibility?

We as the audience don't always get to see what happens "between episodes." There's some things mentioned or alluded to that I wanted to see played out, or at least explained in more detail. Jay was planning on proposing to Nya soon. But those plans all go downhill when Nya gets captured and taken to a new realm: the lightning realm. But the enemy wont be giving her up that easily. The tactics and fighting the enemy uses aren't like anything the ninjas have seen before. The ninja have given up so much of their lives to drive evil away from their home, so when they get a long-deserved break, they are overjoyed. Years have passed since Ninjago has been attacked, and the ninja have created families and lives of their own. But what happens when their past becomes the present, when their fears are fulfilled, when their worst nightmares become reality? Will they be able to save what they love once again?
