"I've lived a hundred lifetimes, and you're the first thing that's ever made me feel alive."
•
21-year-old Sasha Warren thought moving back to Silverpine would mean a quiet life. As the town's new forensic scientist, her days should've been filled with reports, evidence bags, and crime scene tape. But Silverpine is no where near ordinary, it's a place where bodies turn up in the woods with strange bite marks, and no one wants to say the word why.
Sasha Warren decides to take matters into her own hands, after never really getting a solid case closed.
Frustrated with dead-end cases, Sasha starts digging for answers herself. That's when she crosses paths with Vincent Damaris a stranger who always seems to know more than he should. He shows up at crime scenes without explanation, carries himself like someone from another time, and has a way of looking at her that makes her both uneasy and intrigued.
At first, she dismisses it. But then the little things start adding up:
The way his wounds vanish without a scar, his squeamishness, the way his eyes catch the light just a second too long, his skin, cold to the touch.
The deeper Sasha is pulled into Silverpine's history, the deeper her confusion grew, the deeper her suspicion grew. She wanted to know more, and especially about Vincent.
