Erica distoglie gli occhi da lui prima di rispondere alla domanda. «Sei stato richiesto nelle sue stanze.» «Per diventare il suo giocattolo?» chiede Stiles in un sussurro. «È la prima volta che padron Derek fa una richiesta del genere. Però, dietro la sua aria da duro, è un bravo signore. Sono certa che, se lo asseconderai, non avrai problemi e ti tratterà bene» cerca di rassicurarlo. Ma Stiles non si sente per niente tranquillo. Lui non vuole essere di nessuno, tantomeno di chi ha distrutto la sua vita. «Mi sento ancora stanco» dice stendendosi di nuovo sul letto e dando le spalle alla ragazza. «Riposa intanto che puoi» gli consiglia Erica. «Non so per quanto ancora sarà disposto ad aspettare.» «Può aspettare finché vuole, non sarò mai suo» ribatte Stiles prima di cadere in un sonno profondo

Ora gli fanno male anche le nocche, perfetto. Se solo Scott non avesse deciso le coppie, ora lui sarebbe rinchiuso in un'altra dimensione con Lydia, la sua ragazza. Oppure, lui e Lydia sarebbero al sicuro, mentre quelli rinchiusi sarebbero Derek e Braeden. E invece no. È costretto a stare con Derek Hale, proprio il membro del Branco con cui ha meno rapporti, e con cui va meno d'accordo. E se fosse una situazione permanente? Sarebbe un incubo.
