Shuichi Saihara solves cases together with his sister Kyoko Kirigiri. One day he comes across the phantom thief case. He and his sister accepted it, and have their first chase. And well..... let's just pretend that didn't end with Shuichi hanging upside down with a rope around his legs waiting for someone to find him and free him from the thiefs trap. After that fiasco Shuichi is determined to find out who the thief is and put him behind bars. He never would've guessed that this thief would end up stealing his heart. Shuichi Saihara and Kokichi Ouma: They're the most popular at Hope's Peak Academy. Yet, they are sworn enemies. Kokichi, in specific, HATES Shuichi. Shuchi just... doesn't like him. They are living their own lives with their own group of friends, until, Romeo and Juliet comes to Hope's Peak's theaters.

The killing game was over. It was finally over. Out of the sixteen students, only three remained. Maki Harukawa, Himiko Yumeno and Shuichi Saihara. All Shuichi wants is a second chance to save everyone who died. To do things differently, to do things right. What if he was given that chance?
