Ink wasn't one to be held up by emotions, despite what others think. He didn't have a soul, he went through his daily life with his vials. Until he met Error, at first when they fought Ink just wanted to get rid of this nuisance, but Error made Ink feel something. Something real, not authentic. So he wants Error, there is no substitute for how Error makes him feel. Although someone in the dark might also have their eyes on Error, the god of Negativity. Error was badly injured in a fight against Ink and Dream. In his attempt to escape, he falls through a portal to Undertale just as the world is about the reset. The universe, not knowing what to do with the unfamiliar code, decides to make the skeleton a brother to San and Papyrus.

"Are... Are you going to come back?" I ask the black gooey skeleton. I bite my lip as I hold back my tears from falling. I grasp into the end of my gloves tightly.
