For decades and centuries, tailed humans known as Noras roam around the world and their hunters are born to exterminate them, the Farsyas. The fate of the races changes when a young girl believes that the races can be united as one. Nanami Izanami wakes up as a half-Farsya and a half-Nora and struggles from the needs of a Nora everyday, blood. Living solitary for almost three years, she encounters a Farsya named Aina. Their encounter eventually leads to Nanami having herself being put into Aina's unit in the Japanese United Farsya Army (JUFA). Alongside with her comrades, Mahiru Hokusai, Reiji Kurosaki and Lea Alexanderson, Nanami carries out her duty as the fifth Shepherdess, the peacemaker. When Nanami finally has the chance to find her lost elder sister, she discovers that her sister is actually the leader of the leaders of the organizations running under the Noras Army.
