Maya Bishop has a fourteen year old daughter named Harley; she got pregnant by accident with her boyfriend Jack and they lived together as a family until he died when Harley was two. Maya hasn't dated for fifteen years and didn't plan on it anytime soon until a beautiful brunette showed up in her life to possibly change her plans.

Fire Captain Maya Bishop got ready for her shift at Station 19 and went to work just like every other shift she had done. However, during a call with her long-term girlfriend Dr Carina Deluca she heard what sounded like crying coming from outside the station. Upon further investigation, she discovered the noise was coming from a child. She took the child into her office and quickly formed a bond with them That's when Maya realised, this child was to be the next adventure in her life... Inspired by lovatic_f story "Maya's Next Step" (when coming up with the name for my story I didn't realise how similar they were until after I posted it) With that, I am in no way going to copy or steal their ideas. I was just very inspired by what they wrote.

When the arrival of the youngest member of the Bishop family, Maddie, turns up at the station, skeletons come out of the closet and secrets come to light as the truth is revealed one way or another.

"You know, I knew you would freak out on me like this." Carina glares at Maya, her voice starting to break, but before Carina can breakdown she grabs her coat and heads out the apartment she once shared with her girlfriend. Slamming the door on the way out. Maya flinches at the loud sound of the door coming to a close. She just stands there, speechless as she stares around her now empty apartment. Heart in her throat, she starts to step back in disbelief. "What did I just do?" Maya asks herself, as she feels the back of the couch behind her, keeping her weight there as she slides down to the floor heartbroken and lets the tears all fall out at once. ~~~~ This story is based off the 4x14 episode promo of Station 19. Again this is just what plays out in my head, and not what actually happens in the TV show, though content can be inspired by some scenes. Just taking my marina breakdowns and playing out the scenarios in my head between Station 19 episodes. First time publishing, so hope you enjoy!
