Cody was an ordinary kittypet, having a painful past and constantly being taunted and even beaten by his' housemate' , Snow. Enduring moons of torture and taunts, he finally had enough of it. Instead of staying the small, terrified, wailing kit, he grew into a monster, nourished by Snow's hatred, and a unfortunate death. His mind had became corrupt and deadly, and he loved the sensation of killing. He became a dark and evil force, threatening the Clans and their homes.

(takes place 17years after the Last Hope) The Clans have finally been at peace, borders and rivalries nearly forgotten, the Great Battle just a memory. A litter of kits is born, and their arrival triggers an unstoppable series of events. Then a devastating earthquake strikes the Clans, also awakening old enemies. Two cats from each clan must enter the Rift, and will uncover a secret older than the clans themselves.
