JJ was thirteen when his world fell apart for the second time. After his father's death, life had already been cruel, but nothing compared to the man his mother remarried. His stepfather Pong's addictions turned their home into a living nightmare, where survival meant sacrifice, and hope slowly faded with his mother's weakening health. School became a memory, replaced by fear and responsibility far too heavy for a child. But nothing could prepare him for the day the debt collectors arrived. As Pong fell to his knees, desperate and shaking, he agreed to anything to stay alive. And under Night's cold gaze, JJ realized... he was the price.
