16 year old Lily had everything. A family, clothes on her back, a roof over her head, everything. But a simple spark took it all away. So she moved, from the small neighborhood in Long Island, to the big city of Manhattan. She bumps into Davey, an old friend, and becomes a newsie. Upon meeting the charismatic skirt-chasing Jack Kelly, she begins to fall for him. Is it possible that the life of an orphan can really beat the life she once had? Just maybe.

Sadie Harrison lives a normal life in New York. Her father is a research doctor for the poor families of New York. Her mother died when she was just a baby and she never got to know her. Sadie doesn’t have that many friends, but she’s content with the ones she does have. But her normal life changes when she goes to work with her father one day and meets Crutchie, the crippled newsie. Awkward and funny, Sadie is almost instantly attracted to the positive minded newsie, until unexpected tragedy strikes her life. Will this tragedy separate Crutchie and Sadie forever? And will Sadie be able to face the forces that threaten to take her away from her crippled love?
