His dad beats him mercilessly and just as Travis thinks the solution to his problems is to end it all, a bright light in the shape of Sal Fisher appears. Travis soon realises that there is always something worth living for and that he's more than the label his father gives him. But he doesn't know how long it's going to last.

My lungs feel like theyre filled with barbed wire and warm tears pool in my eyes. "Sal, p-please.. I love you so-" "YOU WHAT?" He shouts, a sob catches in my throat and his next words break my heart, "I can't believe I thought you had changed, you fucking asshole."

just a warning I'm extremely sorry if this is bad- it's the first time I'm writing a story so I hope you enjoy. Travis has wanted to ask Sal out for a while but because of his dad's religious beliefs he felt he was sinning for liking Sal. Travis soon remembers that the school dance is coming.
