So most of the dialogue also doesn't belong to me, when it's my dialogue you'll know it.) Mark didn't see 'hero' and 'villain' there was no 'black' and 'white' in the matter. Mark saw grey when it comes to heroes and villains. In the end, they were all just human, some of which were dealt a bad hand in the game called life. Where being a hero wasn't a choice for some. But even if it was a choice, there must be an important reason behind that choice.
