Gianna sat at the dining table, her fingers drumming nervously on the edge of her plate. Leonardo, Raphael, and William ate silently, their eyes occasionally flicking to her.
Her phone buzzed. Jordan Kingston. She swallowed.
Leonardo's eyes narrowed. "On speaker."
She hesitated, then pressed the button.
"Listen here, you little shit, I know you have it," Jordan's voice boomed, deadly serious.
Gianna froze. "Uh... what?"
"The charger. The one for my phone," Jordan's tone was flat, unyielding. "I've been surviving on 3% battery all day, and I will not negotiate."
Gianna blinked, then leaned in conspiratorially. "Jordan... you do realize I'm literally across town, right? Your phone isn't teleporting here."
Jordan's voice hardened. "Distance is irrelevant. Do you understand the gravity of the situation? I could be unreachable for hours!"
William choked on his water. Raphael raised an eyebrow. Leonardo's silence was almost suffocating.
"I'm aware," Gianna said, keeping her tone grave. "But retrieval is... logistically impossible at this exact moment. Only the most skilled operative could transport it across such perilous terrain... without triggering catastrophic failure."
Jordan's voice dropped to a deadly whisper. "Then consider this your final warning. You will devise a method. My phone cannot remain in peril."
Gianna's hand trembled as she lifted the phone. "Understood. I will prepare... contingency measures. But... proceed with caution. The consequences could be... irreversible."
Jordan exhaled, satisfaction heavy in his tone. "Good. I expected nothing less. Failure is not an option."
The call ended. Gianna stared at the phone, her brothers staring back, utterly bewildered.
