At the age of 8 she got adopted by a very nice couple in Paris. By the age of 13 she got the ladybug miraculous. By the age of 14 a liar named Lila Rossi came. She turned Mari's friends against her. There were 4 other people that believed her though. Suddenly, Her class got a announcement that they were going to Gotham.

Damian Wayne convinced his father to let him go to Paris to learn more about these 'mysterious attacks'. Little did he know he would find a pretty little girl with bluebell eyes. Meanwhile, Adrien Agreste contemplates whether Marinette is 'just a friend'. Little did he know he was already too late. When the French-American friendship week came by, some schools in America and in France decided to have a penpal assignment. Two students would get each other's basic information, along with a photo of them, and talk to them over letters. France Dupont happened to get Gotham Academy, which led to Marinette and Damian being Penpals. Marinette, after being isolated and hating most people because of their greed, and Damian, not wanting to interact with anyone, both decided that they would do the minimum of the assignment so they could get the grade they wanted and would forget the project in no time. But that changed when they saw a photo of one another.
