Buck suffers with social anxiety and working as a probie firefighter pushes him to ensue he copes until he is attacked and his world turned upside down until he meets someone on a game

They are both intently staring at the lights changing from one number to the next. Then the elevator comes to a halt and Buck assumes he'll soon be alone. But instead of pushing away from the wall, the other man is just furrowing his brows. Then Buck realizes the door isn't opening. His eyes flit back to the current story: Four. That's not where any of them wanted to get off. Buck groans. "I think we're stuck." Buck laughs a humorless laugh. "Shit." <hr> Buck gets stuck in his apartment building's broken elevator with his good-looking neighbor from the sixth floor.

Buck's father comes into the station and Buck does not like it. -- First chapter (712 words) can be read as a one shot.

Eddie has spent his whole life trying to live up to his parents' expectations. He was used to them telling him he's a terrible parent. But saying that to Carla and, God forbid, Buck? Now that was crossing the fucking line.
