This story begins in December of 1987. Rory is 3 years old and living in Hartford with Lorelai. They never moved to Stars Hollow. Instead they lived with the Gilmores until Lorelai graduated from high school. After that Lorelai got a job and with some help from her parents, got her own place in Hartford.
