'Goodbye Postie' follows the lives of Postie and Sparkie, navigating small town life with their respective jobs. Sick of the small town monotony, Postie decides he needs a change which may mean moving away - far away from friends, family and responsibilities. On the other side is his best mate Sparkie, who's got everything he needs in life right where his. They butt heads over whether to stay or go and over loyalty to each other. This is based off of my first stage play of the same name. Many I spoke to during the Edinburgh fringe felt the story transcended theatre, therefore I've been writing this as a passion project, explore potential new scenes or convert to the media of film/tv. Inspired by works such as Mayflies, Trainspotting and Shuggie Bain, I aim to keep it as authentic to the South-West Scottish setting as possible. This is a work in progress and incomplete. All feedback is welcome, as well as discussion.
