Ethan dusted his shirt and stared off at people swarming the sidewalk. Rush hour has started. Driving through traffic would be a headache. Abruptly, A girl in a yellow dress caught his eyes. She was rooted in spot in the middle of sidewalk. Unlike the others, she wasn't moving. She finally turned. Her eyes looked exhausted,and her face paled as if she's going to faint any second. "Adaline!" Ethan whispered running towards her just in time to catch her before she collapsed on to the cement floor. He sling her limp arms around his neck carrying her to his car in bridal style. Ethan placed her gently in the backseat before sprinkling water on her face,resting his palm over her forehead checking her body temperature. "Addie what happened! you're burning! where's Mike ?" Ethan asked desperately wishing she would open her eyes. Adaline fluttered her eyes open briefly, muttering incoherent sentences before slipping back to unconsciousness. The only words he could make up ended up stabbing his heart, which was unsettling.
