As coisas começaram bem para Tulipa, além de ter ido assistir a final da Copa Mundial de Quadribol parece que haverá um torneio entre escolas acontecendo em Hogwarts este ano e a melhor parte é: Apenas bruxos maiores de idade podem se inscrever devido a perigosidade do torneio, como uma bruxa de 14 anos, Tulipa esta mais do que feliz em deixar os outros bruxos entrarem no torneio e assistir da plateia enquanto eles tentam não morrer em provas absurdas. Mas é claro que nada na vida de Tulipa poderia ser simples e esperar por um ano normal foi muito inocente, alguém conseguiu burlar as regras e inscrevê-la no torneio. Então além de ter que sobreviver a provas potencialmente mortais existe a questão sobre quem a inscreveu e porque.
