Gotham is certainly a lot worse than you expected. You figured "making it" would be easy once you got here, but making friends is already hard enough. Your job at Pogo's is rough. Your apartment is tiny. The streets are mean and the people are meaner.
Except one guy.
The same guy that comes to your job all the time.
He's weird. He's loud. He's awkward. He's just uncomfortable to be around in general.
But he's the only one that actually treats you like a person.
Maybe he isn't so bad....
//UPDATES EVERY 2-5DAYS//
The abandoned, misunderstood man, failing at his job as a stand-up comedian, finds what truly makes him smile, no it's not a job, or an object. But a person, a very special person.
You're newly moved to Gotham, and you're trying to make some new friends. One of your neighbours in your apartment complex is intriguing, and you try to get to know him. (in progress).
Thanks to everyone who gives it a read, and I appreciate the comments and votes very much also. 🤡
A reader-insert telling of the 2019 Joker movie, from both Arthur and reader POV. Loosely based off of the DC Universe. Every chapter is inspired by a song.
"All I have are negative thoughts"
You're the therapist of Arthur Fleck who helps him with his problems.
Will you be able to help him or will he make you insane?
You constantly hear a man's laughter coming from next door. Unsure of who it is, you label him "The Man Who Laughs".
The title is from the movie the man who laughs but it is also the title of a Batman comic. I do not own the title nor do i own Joker/ Arthur. This is just a story made for fun.
