But as each second passed in trying to find the antidote, the world had spiralled deeper and further into the chaos and terror melded by the infected monsters. Now all that's left is getting this antidote out into the world and curing humanity. Simple, right? But knots start to tangle the ropes, as new complications and scenarios arise: new people, new enemies, and new mutations. All of which leaves Wilbur second guessing himself: is the worst really over? Or is this only the end of the beginning?

Jonathan Schlatt, formally known as Schlatt, had been emperor of L'manberg, up until his fatal heart attack on November 13, 2020. On that day, L'manberg also lost Wilbur Soot, who had exploded a fair portion of the beautiful city. Cut to a couple years later, and Wilbur is now known as Ghostbur, a lonely spirit who, unfortunately, doesn't remember half the things that happened. It's mid October, one month before the anniversary of L'manberg's greatest war, when another spirit begins to terrorize the city. Wilbur has one job; find the spirit and stop him. A group of 6 boys - Wilbur, Schlatt, Tommy, Ty, Technoblade and Connor - all work together in a small detective agency, venturing out and exploring to debunk and uncover hidden myths and legends. (They call themselves the "MCIA" - "Myths and Cases Investigation Agency"). One day, after Schlatt manages to find the River of Horrors - which was a legend they were trying to uncover for awhile - he calls Wilbur immediately to meet him. Meanwhile on the other boys end, they discover a plague roaming the world.
