"Did you know that you were my first love?" Jeongin confesses out of the blue and the way Chan blinks at him, astonished, before he bursts out laughing doesn't even give Jeongin the opportunity to be embarrassed about it. He joins the older in laughing. "What?" Chan splutters through his giggles. "Yeah!" Jeongin says, as if offended that Chan was doubting him. "I mean, you were the older boy that took care of everyone in the cabin, and we were pretty close, so of course I had a crush on you." "I'm only two years older than you." Chan's laughter starts to die down but there's still so much humour in his face when he looks at the younger. Jeongin snorts. "So? You're still older than me." "What about now?" Chan asks; there's a small spark in his eyes, a slight sheen that's akin to hope as he looks at Jeongin. "You still have a crush on me?" Jeongin narrows his eyes at Chan, then jabs a finger onto the older's shoulder to push him. "Don't get cheeky with me." "That's not an answer." Chan grins at him teasingly and Jeongin huffs. He didn't think Chan would make a big deal out of it. For God's sake, Jeongin was eleven when he decided that he had a crush on thirteen-year old Bang Chan. A lot has changed since then. "I'm not giving you an answer." Jeongin sticks his tongue out at Chan, reminding the older of the hyper-active but timid kid he shared a cabin with during summer camp. Chan reaches over and pinches his cheek, much like how he would when Jeongin was being particularly adorable. Maybe not everything has changed. -------------------- When Jeongin's parents decide that he should spend high school in Seoul, the last thing he expects is to meet his old summer camp crush, Bang Chan, in his new high school. Summer camp is a lot different from high school but that doesn't stop them from rekindling their childhood friendship after years of no contact with each other. Some things have changed now that they're all grown up, but first loves never die.

"What are you doing here?" Chan repeated with the same endless patience he had for the younger. Jeongin blinked, and the calculative and questioning in his eyes were instantly replaced with the frailness and nativity that Chan was used to seeing from him. "I missed you." Chan felt a tug at his heart, painful and wrenching, and he found it hard to breathe when Jeongin looked at him like that. He tried to look away but knew it would hurt more not to drown into Jeongin when it came as naturally as breathing to him. "You took care of me the best." Jeongin continued when Chan failed to reply. A frisson of anger ran down Chan's spine. His eyes narrowed, boring into Jeongin in that way that he knew gave Jeongin no choice but to tell the truth. Chan hoped that was the case. He hoped that there were slivers of truth hidden within the lies. "Is Changbin not taking care of you?" he asked through gritted teeth. Changbin. One of his best friends, and one of the people that turned their backs on Chan and his father and got the two of them where they were now- either locked up in jail or buried 6 feet under. Jeongin's lips curled up in a closed mouthed smile. "He's not you." -------------------- When the all-powerful Bang Chan finds his heart with the lone thief that broke into one of their bases, he thought that giving Jeongin the world would satiate the man's thirst for power. He should have expected that the day would come where simply standing in the sidelines won't be enough for Jeongin and he'd be compelled to take things into his own hands, to take Chan's power for his own; but even with the betrayal, Chan can't find it in itself to resent his love.

Chan pauses, turns his head left and right to see if there's anyone within eyesight of the two of them standing in front of the elevators before he deems the coast clear and Jeongin feels a hand on his lower back before he's pulled closer to the older. His eyes close on instinct when he feels himself kissing Chan but of course the older pulls away too soon but Jeongin doesn't have the heart to whine about it when Chan is smiling at him thoughtfully. "Peaches," the older whispers as he removes his hand from Jeongin's back and takes a step back. The elevators open behind him and Chan enters it by taking steps backwards, eyes on Jeongin. "my favourite." The elevator doors close, taking Chan with it, and Jeongin can't help but scoff at how red his ears must be right now as he purses his lips and runs his tongue over the peach-flavoured lipbalm he had on. -------------------- The country's superstar sweetheart Yang Jeongin has everything anyone can ask forㅡ fame, wealth, glory, and the whole of South Korea wrapped around his finger.
