Maya and Carina are trying to have children, when they discover something that will change their lives.

Maya falls asleep in her bed, sick and tired of her fathers constant pressure. She just wants to fast forwards to a time when she's done with the Olympics, when life is good. Maya wakes up in a strange bed with an even stranger woman. The woman, Carina, her wife, (wife?), comforts her when she cries, and challenges her to break the rules her father has put in place.

Sequel to "Learning to Grieve." Maya and Carina go through the ups and downs of parenthood to twins. Can they get through the difficult times without being reminded of their past? Reader should probably read the first book in order to understand some mentions. 6/3/22 ~

But now? now it had been 5 years since she had seen the people she once called family. So what happens when she takes a job in Seattle as their new battalion chief.
