Bálburunn was found in a forest as a baby, taken in by the local madman, Floki. Her life is changed she is introduced to Ragnar Lothbrok and his son Björn. Querencia (n.) a place where one feels safe, a place from which one's strength of character is drawn. When Ragnar finally returned, after ten years, he took someone with him to Kattegat. The young Bjarke was brought up by Ragnar during those ten years. She would be better than his sons in some ways. She would help them rule. Ragnar knew that his sons would need her when he was gone and he knew she would succeed in her mission. (Season 4b & 5a)
