Written for @RaeKitano lgbt short story challenge. The challenge was to create a story about a character who has locked him or herself in a bathroom and the events that followed.

Allie Fields is a popular girl in high school. She’s sixteen and a junior. She has many friends and a great boyfriend, Daniel Randolph. Everything’s great right? Wrong. Allie feels a little under the weather and finally goes to the doctor under her parent’s concerned orders. When the doctor comes back in and requests she calls her parents, they get the devastating news that Allie has been diagnosed with stage two cancer. The doctors all say it’s curable. Her parents are hopeful but Allie’s not. She plans on keeping it a secret from everyone but her boyfriend Daniel finds out by accidentally overhearing her. He’s there for her but there are many challenges they must face and it will be difficult. “I am very sorry to inform you that your daughter won’t be able to walk again.” Those were the words my doctor chose to inform my parents that their only daughter was paralyzed. “He’s gone.” Those were the ones my mom chose, to inform me that my boyfriend is no more alive. “Honey, at least you’re still alive.” And these were others someone said to try and console me. I am no more the Amber they all knew and maybe loved. I used to be a happy teenager and I loved the life I had. But now, I lost everything I cared the most about. How is that not death, again? What words are going to give me my life back? None. That's what I thought, until I met him.

It takes a lot to keep a secret…. However it’s easier to keep when absolutely no one knows about it. 17 year old Elizabeth Heart is typical “plain Jane” at Riverside High School. She’s invisible, has a single friend, boring, shy, and practically a nobody. But everyone knows the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” now right? Elizabeth is far from plain Jane once she steps out of Riverside High, in fact, she’s quite the opposite. But there’s always that one person who comes along and threatens the very secrets that try to stay hidden. And, there’s always someone who tries to keep that from happening.

Another Day In 7th Grade is my very first full length book. I wrote the first draft when I was 13 years old, just a seventh grader myself. It's a story of a girl named Sofya Quade who no matter how hard she tries always seems to be the odd girl out. She lives in a small town called Shylow with her best friends Tommy Veronics and Lidia Heart. The three have been through everything together, but can't help wondering what the future has in store. Sofya also can't help noticing how quickly her diary is filling up with a certain name... Alex Stone... The boy who smells of the forest. She can't get him out of her mind! She wishes she had the courage to tell him how she feels, but for now all she can do is dream... My all time favorite reviews for this book: Another Day In 7TH Grade was honestly amazing. I never post on people's message board after reading their stories, but I felt I had to let you know how good it is.
