This is the story of nine men from the sengoku period of Japan (16th century/ the era of civil war) These men live in a vilage which is not involved in the war. It is a peaceful village until the war finally involves them. Day after Day samurai warriors pillage their village, slaughter their women and children. These nine men pray to the war god to protect the village from invaders. The war god blesses their prayer and makes them an offer; "by sacrificing a thousand invading samurai; they will gain immortality to protect their lands forever." The nine men achieve this and abuse the power of immortality. Their punishment is to be sent to hell and to be reincarnated with the memories of the abyss. One of the men who renamed himself the Asura (demon of war) is trapped in hell for eternity without the posibility of returning. The eight men who are reincarnated in modern day japan split into two groups. One group to arise their leader from hell and another group to prevent this from happening. THE BATTLE OF SAMURAI STILL OCCURS EVEN TODAY!!!!!
