Thomas awakens in a box, remembering only his first name. He arrives in the Glade, a place surrounded by an unsolvable maze, a place full of teenage boys, who also have no idea how they'd gotten there. Then a girl arrives with a message, saying everything is going to change. And the fight to get out of there becomes much more important. soulmates. a controversial subject. for the maze kingdom, it's a disgusting thing. they don't mean anything. you end up with the person you want to be with, or the person you get an arranged marriage to. but for the glade, the scorch kingdom and denver? completely different point of view. soulmates are wanted. people who have found their soulmates are lucky. lucky. thomas greene wasn't lucky. born into the maze kingdom, as the prince, he was brought up hating soulmates. well, that's what his father wants him to think. newt, on the other hand, was the complete opposite of royalty. gay, born in denver and informal. 3 things that were absolutely repulsive in the maze kingdom. but to thomas? oh, to thomas, newt was an angel.

Newt had already given up all hope when one day a new Greenie showed up in the Glade, turning life upside down. We all know how the story goes. Not making any big changes, just altering it enough to have movies and books get along with each other. Also it's told from Newt's point of view cause I just love putting myself through misery. It's the story I always wanted to read but never got, so now I'm just gonna write it myself.

Newt is a weird kid with an especially weird secret. He's gay. And nobody knows, not his family or even his closest friends. But that might change when he starts talking to an anonymous gay kid on the school website. All Newt wants is somebody who knows what he's going through, somebody who he can sympathize with. But he didn't plan on falling in love. Now, he's desperately trying to keep his secret hidden while hoping to find out who the anonymous kid is. [DISCLAIMER: This isn't completely paralleled with the book or movie. All I'm doing is taking the concept and adding TMR characters to it. I'll probably use quotes and stuff but don't expect it to be too similar.]

Every month means the arrival of a new boy to the Glade and four weeks more without finding a way out of the Maze, and every month Newt grows more hopeless about his future. Until Thomas. Thomas, with whom Newt shares confusing visions about their past every time their eyes meet-and who turns out to be the first of several factors leading to a brutal change in the Maze's rules. Soon enough it is clear that the two boys will have to work elbow to elbow if they want to get everyone out alive. But not everyone is happy about it, and as Newt and Thomas' feelings for each other grow stronger with every vision, they might have to face something worse than the creatures that lurk the Maze. It's been almost a year since they got to the safe haven, but Thomas can't heal. He reads Newt's letter everyday, once in the morning and once in the evening. He can't help but wonder what he could have done differently. But one morning, Thomas and the others are startled to find a small surprise waiting for them on the beach. A surprise that'll push them to go back to the world they so longed to escape from.
