America is a well known, cool, flirtatious, piece of shit. His cocky demeanor makes it seem like he cares about himself above all, but he actually won't hesitate to aid the ones he cares about. Russia is the silent scary motherfucker that everyone avoids. Yet, he can be an overprotective friend/sibling. Get past his walls, and he can be the best friend you could ever have. It was an accident, how everything started. Now, it doesn't seem like a bad idea.
