Crystal was a gem created for battle strategy, tactical thinking, and infiltration during the rebellion 6000 years ago. Crystal noticed that the Diamonds would stare and blush when they thought she wasn't looking but when she turned to look at them they would turn their head the other direction, everytime Crystal was close to finding out why, the Diamonds would interrupt her thoughts. Feeling heartbroken and trapped, Spinel decided to go back to Earth, where she lived with Steven and the CGs. Steven realizes how precious Spinel is, and instantly falls in love. Unfortunately, he becomes obsessed with her, doing anything to make her his. His property, his love, his Spinel. That causes him to go on a rampage, and he is no longer the loving Steven we all knew and love. His eyes turned into Diamond eyes, putting him out of his usual place.
