It's a scary thing to do -- trusting someone with the most special thing about you; the thing that defines you as a person: your name. There's no telling what comes after it when someone speaks. It could be positive, and it could also be negative. But sometimes you just have to take a chance and open yourself to every possibility. Whether that be telling someone your name, going on your first date, or even falling in love. [top 10 finalist for the best of me movie contest] [1499/1500 words] [short story #30, 10/03/14]

Meet Sophie Brothers, the most dramatically sarcastic bitch on this planet. She's kind of crazy and usually can never figure out what she wants. Why don't we throw in two amazing (sometimes horrible) guys, a model best-friend, a true friend, a little munchkin and a few crazy encounters. Sophie never does anything on the normal side and likes to blow things way out of proportion, so in the end nothing is ever bland with her. Regardless to what anyone says..Sophie's not TOTALLY insane... (Mostly true events from my unbearably sad life)

When Harper got a job at the local diner all she knew was that she'd be wasting her summer elbow deep in grease and sweat. The only thing she didn't expect was to fall in love and --possibly-- learn to roller skate. • • • Harper Stevens was your ordinary high school girl, just holding onto to so-so grades, not getting invited to parties, skipping that yearly Christmas dance, lazing it out in her bedroom and babysitting half her mother co-workers children. It was her normal and she fully intended to spend her summer the exact same way;in her room with the lights off and a bag of Doritos--that was until her mother lost her job. Harper is heartbroken for her mother who had worked in the same building for almost four years, now she has to step up and get a job. Sadly the only place hiring is that dumb pink-ed out diner a few blocks from her house, Pinkie & Families'. Who ever said a little adventure could hurt you?
