Fifteen years ago Hybrids were given rights. Now a danger has overtaken the city. An illness turning random citizens into villains and killing them once they have carried out their deeds. Someone needs to stop the unidentified villain before the city is torn to ruins. Enter Grian, an English teacher working at a local high school who has to be a superhero the moment the city is in trouble. All he wanted was to live a normal life and possibly date his coworker. Cue, Scar an art teacher with a heart of gold and a reckless side who enjoys fighting crime with his partner Cute-Guy. After all, Scar was never one to live a normal life.

Scar, a popular senior at his high school, has two very close friends. Mumbo and Martyn. They hang out a lot and they often crack themselves up. Mumbo is the nerd of their group and Martyn's the class clown. Scar's a bit of both, mostly the funny type though. One night, Martyn invites Scar and Mumbo to a horror movie. Mumbo was busy studying for their math test tomorrow, so Scar went with Martyn. Halfway through, Scar had to go as his mother wanted him home since he failed his last math test and she wanted him to study for the next one. Scar walked home and when he was nearing his home, he saw a...creature on the street sign. Scar walked closer and saw that it looked like a human with colorful parrot wings.
