She watched over the eggs, looking around to make sure there weren't any intruders. However there was a man sneaking up behind the beast, he jumped in, destroying many eggs. Believing he got they all he turned to fight the giant beast but it was one step ahead of him, lunging down and taking off his whole head, blood splattered everywhere. Hiccup and Toothless were patrolling the village of Berk after Dagar and his men attacked the night before. The two entered a cave and heard a small cry around a corner deeper into the cave. When they looked inside, they noticed a tiny Night Fury hatchling, who was crying for his/her mother. The two decide to take the small dragon in, to see how the older dragon would do as a parent, and still be the alpha. This is my first "X Reader" story, so forgive me if I make some mistakes

Nightfury's are a very rare species of dragon. They are rarely ever seen by the human eye which is why dragon hunters are determined to get the head of a nightfury as a trophey. This is the case for a nightfury who lost many that she cared about to Dragon hunters.
