The kekkei-genkai of the child, however, was not what made the Konoha shinobi steal the boy, for he did not know of the stronger component of the boy's kekkei-genkai. No, the man had taken him as a hostage from Iwa before his wife decided to adopt him. On the night of the attack of the Kyūbi, Minato sealed it into his recently adopted son. They did not know that their supposed "son" had known from the start that he was not from Konoha. They also failed to realise that their little boy was really the precious younger brother of an S-rank nuke nin, Kagami Deidara.
