I ran as fast as my legs would carry me, but you can't get very far when the thing you're trying to outrun is yourself. ~~~~ Seventeen-year-old Demi Kianu is just about your average teenage girl. She worries about appearances, clothes, and the next time she’ll be able to get drunk. But one night, when she and her best friend Nariel Deveraux are out clubbing, a mysterious voice begins pounding her ears. The last thing it tells her before unconsciousness sweeps over her is “You’ve been impossible to catch, my lovely devil.” Now, three days later, Demi wakes up in a hospital, an IV running into her arm and…a tail running up her back? Outside the hospital window, a dark hooded figure looms, his beady red eyes trained on her green ones. The entrance of Nari breaks their connection, and the figure vanishes. Demi’s “father” comes in and tells her grave news. She is the daughter of Satan, but she is to continue her normal life so that he can’t find her. Well, as normal as the spawn of Satan can be. (Inspired by the manga "Blue Exorcist" but has nothing to do with it.)

It was pity that first made Dannie speak to him. She had known Ryan since she was a kid, but he had always been the popular Golden Boy, and she had always been the tomboy that didn’t mind not having any friends. It was odd, she had thought, that all the popular kids who had once kissed the ground he walked on, didn’t so much spared him a glance anymore, and it was this that made her sit with him that one faithful day and begin something that would only end up causing her pain.
