Kokichi, a teenager fresh out of high school, gets the brilliant idea to travel through time after a close friend of his disappears, presumably dead. However, instead of sending him to the specific year, hes sent spiralling through time and landing in 1980, where he meets Shuichi Saihara, someone who makes him happier then hes been in years.
