Kyōjurō's eyes met those of a saddened face, a demons face, not just any demon, upper moon three, quite a cheerful and talkative demon actually-yet in Kyōjurō's final moments he seemed so sad. Kyōjurō however cannot feel remorse for this demon and continues to fight till his final breaths never to know where that innkeeper disappeared to or know why that demon looked so sad when Kyōjurōs life was cut short, why had he begged for Kyōjurō to live? the fire pillar Rengoku falls in love with the water pillar Giyuu. But one day Rengoku found Giyuu on the ground but something is off about Giyuu.

He's not sure how but Rengoku Kyojuro fell hard for the painfully oblivious and "emotionless" water pillar, Tomioka Giyu. Giyuu was sick not that any of the other pillars knew (or cared, so he thought). He was hit by a blood demon art in the final selection when he saw his best friend die right before his eyes, right when something inside him snapped and Giyuu lost the light in his eyes. His time was running out... Not that he cared he was happy that death would show its ugly face to him so that he could die, be at peace, and with his best friend again. Giyuu feared being a lone but he feared the pain of losing one close to him again so he distanced himself from his fellow hashiras, for that very reason as well as the facts that he knew his time was short (so he didn't want anyone to care about him), and that he didn't deserve to be a hashira it should've been Sabito. But will Giyuu open himself up to the possibility of loving another once more? Find a reason to fight to stay alive? This started as a small idea. Just a bit of a "what if..." but since I love Kimetsu no Yaiba too much, it spiralled out of control and well... I have a lot planned, but I'll take it one at a time. So! This is a Reader x Rengoku au story. Of course, there's scenes with other characters and a whole plot I kinda have planned out but Rengoku is a bab so I'll try to focus mostly on him.
