New York City is supposed to be the place of big hopes and even bigger dreams. But when Cloud and Tifa reunite there more than a decade after separating in their hometown in Colorado, they're both surrounded by broken promises and empty wishes. It doesn't help that their instant attraction begins to muddle those promises, blurring the lines of their friendship as they both try to figure out who they truly are against the towering spires of the city's skyline. After leaving his hometown and the girl he secretly loves to join SOLDIER and achieve his dreams, Cloud Strife finds that the homesickness and the loneliness are too much to bear alone in the big city, and begins to write the girl of his dreams letters. Years later, when they are reunited, he doesn't remember that she never wrote him back. 99.5% Canon, slight divergence at the end. COMPLETE.
