Lucy is anxiously entering her freshman year of high school. Lucy, her fraternal twin Danny, and their best friend Heather are excited for what this new chapter in their lives will bring them. The thing that Lucy is most excited for though, is that she will be attending the same school as her lifelong crush, a boy named Julian Casablancas. Lucy has had a crush on Julian for years, ever since they were kids. But, her heart ached at the thought that she was invisible in his eyes. Taking over the course of 7 years (1997-2004), this story is about love, hate, and everything in between. Maya finds herself in a love triangle between Nick Valensi and Julian Casablancas, but as she falls in love, she also falls upon family secrets that will make her question everything. (I hadn't read the book before I started writing this but there is a surprising amount of similarities between my story and @happylittlehelders "Wish I wasn't so shy" which was written way before this.
