I nodded. "What else can I do? A leader has to take care of her people. But they've all been a great help. Murphy especially."
"Don't tell me you trust him," he grunted.
"Trust? No," I said, shaking my head. "I do believe in second chances, though."
"Except when it comes to yourself," he shot.
"Jaha once told me that self-forgiveness is the hardest of them all. And, until recently I never thought I would find a reason to deserve a second chance."
He furrowed his brows. "What changed your mind?"
"Making sure these kids live long enough to get their's."
