alcoholic, abusive parents. something nini and her little brother have had to live with their entire lives, nini being 17 and her brother being 6. nini's be forced to take over all the adulting responsibilities while managing high school. now's the time where her senior year is about to begin. but, nini's best friend, gina, hasn't stopped talking about the four best friends that are moving to salt lake. talk has been shifting through the community all summer, especially between girls, since according to gina they're the "hottest, mysterious, and most popular guys ever." nini's mind is full of everything but. she couldn't care less about some stupid boys. they've never been helpful, right?
