Ishita Iyer has been dreaming of a life as a dentist, wife, and mother, but destiny plays a cruel joke on her, as her dreams are shattered by her fiancé Subbu right before their engagement. She moves to Delhi with her family, searching for the remedy of her broken heart, only to find happiness in the most unexpected place. Raman Bhalla was a blessed son, brother, husband, and father, only to have his world destroyed by his wife Shagun after five long years of marriage. Cursed with a scorched soul and burned by the weakness called love, he flees from Delhi, only to find peace and joy in the very place he left behind. Disclaimer: This is my retelling of the iconic show "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein." I am a huge fan of the initial 1.5-2 years which were telecast at 11 pm. Those initial days of YHM are the inspiration for my story. I attempt to close loopholes and expand on relationships and character conflicts that were insufficiently addressed on the show (in my opinion). The characters here are all the same as in the original show. The only difference is that Simi's husband and Ananya's father is a guy named Pulkit. Both Simi and Pulkit are good people and happily married. Param is not a character in this story. If you are unfamiliar with the original characters, please refer to the family trees added with the trailer. Although the story and premise is different, I will be recreating certain tracks that could have gone better in my opinion (Ishita's infertility; custody trial of both Ruhi and Adi; Mani's entry and Raman's jealousy; Ishita's insecurities regarding Shagun; IshRa pregnancy track and Pihu's birth). A comparison of two relationships- one blossoming, the other decaying. One which starts with a compromise but develops into true and abiding love. The other which starts with lust and degenerates into a sordid deal. How these two relationships collide and how Raman and Ishita protect their budding love from the fallout of Shaguns aborted wedding to Ashok is the tale of Kaun Kiska. In the show, Shaguns wedding is cancelled due to Ashok trapping Mihika. In my story, Ashok tells Shagun he won't marry her because he no longer has any use for her. My story parts ways with YHM at this point, and the ensuing tale is purely a figment of my imagination. Based on characters from the Indian television series Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.
