Or: The story of a boy with elven and human blood, a girl with an inside source of magic, a Moonshadow elf assassin who can't and won't kill, a "step-prince" with a sky orb, and a child who talks to animals and has a glow toad for a friend.

The moon was full and shown down as claws raked down the walls of her prison. The small infant fought to be released from the cramped area and to be freed into the world. Her claws broke a piece of shell off. Her first sign of success. The small wings spread wide as she forced into the weakened wall before her. A loud boom echoed outwards from the outside world catching her attention. Her eyes remained closed but her ears moved to listen. Nothing came after the boom which she assumed to be a sign of safety. Her body flung forward and the wall collapsed freeing her small form. The body of the infant fell onto the soft nest. Shouting and running set the small dragon into a frenzy. Even without the understanding of life yet the infant still knew by instinct there was approaching danger. Her body flung onto the egg beside her as she clawed to save her kin. It was the day they where to hatch together and serve each other. Her small claws where useless against the hard shell. She continued to fight. Suddenly jet black scales shot in front of her and snatched her from the ground. The fellow dragon ran off as the infant watched the egg taken from the nest by humans. A slow gentle rage filled the infant as her kin was stripped from it's home.

pretty much if you have watched the dragon prince this is what happens before and after Runaan and Rayla leave to kill king harrow and prince Ezran. Beware, there is spoilers.

Ayla (eye-la) is an 18 year old Moon shadow elf. She never knew her parents. Her mom died giving birth to her and her dad, Orion, was called upon to help protect the dragon Queen, Ayla was just nine months at the time and was left in the care of Runaan. Orion never came back as he intervened Verin when he was about to kill Rayla's parents. Verin grabbed the egg, trapping Orion's sould in a coin and then he fled. Runaan is a Moon Shadow Elf and he hates humans. Lyra is a human princess who loves her brothers very dearly and wishes the two lands could coexist. The two of them live completely different lives, but when the Moon Shadow Elf Assasins threaten the castle where Lyra lives, the two meet. He is expected to kill her but after finding out the Dragon Prince egg is still alive and well, himself, Lyra, Callum, Ezran, Rayla and Bait journey to Xadia. Along the way the group come across dangerous creatures, people and places, causing Runaan and Lyra to bond overtime.

But going there will need a ship and a captain. Callum then meet an elf in a tavern willing to help them find the captain that the prince needed for their journey.
