"Appearances can be deceiving- especially if you're not looking hard enough." This is a story about superheroes. Also, it isn't. I should know. I'm trapped in it. *** Meet Jack. A stereotypical protagonist with a tragic backstory who discovers he has powers and uses them to save The City aided by his trusted friends- except he isn't. What's the hushed-up secret the Government is keeping about The City- and why is it against a hero? What's up with Jack's history teacher? What exactly is his University hiding? Why is there the occasional unnecessary reference? How sinister are the skeletons lurking in his so-called friends' cupboards? And which one of them is a cold-blooded murderer? Secrets, secrets, everywhere- but the more he unravels, the closer he thinks he is to being free, the more Jack finds himself linked to forces outside his control and events he barely remembers, stuck in a fictional universe where, it would seem, everyone is against him. ___ Highest ranks that I have no idea how this thing received- #2 thriller #3 mystery #4 fourthwall #5 breakstereotypes #8 masks #16 projectsuper #143 humour ...among others. Thanks a lot, guys! :D

He ran into her at street theater. She was a force of nature, not a casual first time hire. She brought the house down with her performance, literally pulled the audience to their feet in standing ovation. Her performance was too real, unnerving, deeply unsettling to him. He spent all his energy keeping up with her. At the end of the play, she snatched her earnings from the director's hands and ran away, leaving a trail of questions behind her, the most burning one in his mind was: Would he ever see her again? ____________________ This ongoing novel imagines a world that our younger generations inherit after a series of successive presidencies in the same vein as the current model. There is no need for erecting walls, as the biggest divide created by humanity - that of social class - takes care of a post modern segregation. The poor are literally marginalized into slum-like townships and tend to be of color. The names of these townships would be enough to tell you their story. The rich, well, remain happily oblivious in the big American cities. In this world find a mysterious girl whose identity must be hidden or she would be hunted down and a young street actor who falls for her intrigue. Discover how they survive, born into a society not prepared to give them a chance. For them, the dystopia came without an apocalypse. Evoking the paranoid tension of Rosemary's Baby and the unnerving atmosphere of the cult horror film Jacob's Ladder, The Cracks in the Labyrinth is a disturbing psychological thriller set in present-day Caracas, where the government has devolved into a "democratic dictatorship"-a creepy suspense novel meant to challenge your deeper, subconscious fears of losing control. It consumed the sanity of an entire country... And it was not from this world. It couldn't have been. Whatever caused the incident known as "The Red Christmas" drove Venezuela into madness. Even ten years since it happened, none of the survivors of that night dare to attempt to make sense of it all, including Adam. Living ostracized to hide from the brutal way of life in Caracas, he's working tirelessly as an online writer to help his brother and sister flee the country. Now, as he's about to have enough money to take them to safety, he receives an email from his old girlfriend ... which is remarkable, considering she's been presumed dead for years. Adam tries to think nothing of the email or the broken video file attached to it. He convinces himself that it has to be a computer virus of some kind until he discovers something terrifying: the video might link his sister to the worst night of his life, the night his girlfriend went missing, the night of "The Red Christmas". Then he realizes this could be a threat; his sister's life could be in danger. As he starts to investigate who sent the video, Adam begins to uncover dark truths about his neighbors and finds evidence that there might be a larger conspiracy at play. The problem is that he's starting to suffer from hellish hallucinations that make him question what is real. Soon, the only clear thing to him is that someone doesn't want him to dig up the past. Will Adam be able to stay sane long enough to find out what really happened the night of "The Red Christmas"? Will he succeed in helping his family escape the country?

Fifteen-year-old Harry Potter wakes up in his cupboard under the stairs at number four, Privet Drive with no memory of the past five years of his life. What happened to his memory? What do his strange dreams mean? And most importantly, how will he survive in a school for incurably criminal boys? This is primarily a mystery, with a bit of shippiness thrown in here and there. Of course, if I told you WHO is involved in the shippiness, that would ruin part of the mystery, wouldn't it? This story takes place immediately after OotP (and thus disregards HBP). THIS IS NOT MINE. I JUST DECIDED TO CREATE A COPY OF IT FOR WATTPAD BECAUSE IT IS FROM A DIFFERENT SITE. ALL CREDITS GO TO THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR.
