After defeating father, Roy Mustang and Edward Elric live together in house in central. Both have given up Alchemy to protect their adopted son who they named Maes. Alphonse Elric lives nearby, and spoils little Maes rotten. Amy, is Maes's godmother and helps Roy and Ed daily Maes is a small 4 year old boy, who does not feel any different to having 2 fathers, he longs to be like his father and learn alchemy, and even calls his father the fullmetal alchemist during school presentations (he cannot pronounce the world fullmetal correctly, hence the name of the title) However, another war breaks out, and Roy is called back into war. But he is no longer sitting at his desk, Roy is forced to put on his gloves for one final time, and leave Maes and Edward alone...The scars that were healed, are torn back open when he must kill those he thought as friends.
