A/N: Can be read with or as a standalone of "The Devil's Angel." -- I was once told that I was special, so special that I had to be born a human to "protect" myself from a world of darkness and to make sure that I was fully ready to be what they, whoever they were, needed me to be for them. Little did they know, my whole human life was filled with one dark and dreary thing after another, where I was broken time and time again until there was nothing left except for the will to survive so that I could try to protect and heal my family from a man that caused us so much pain and fear, even though I also needed to be protected and healed from the same thing, from the same man that I was supposed to call my "father." However, that didn't work and hadn't lasted as long as one had hoped, for I was killed and thrown into what was supposed to make me special, even though I didn't think that I ever could find a way to believe that. All I knew was that I had to become someone to help, offer advice, and lend a listening and understanding ear to those who needed it, changing the viewpoints in a way that my brethren before me hadn't been able to do, and getting ready for a mission, a mission that no one else had before me. It was a mission far more dangerous than any mission that I had ever been on, for this mission was something that I had to do alone and to make sure that no one knew what I was, or else it would lead to my untimely second death. It was a mission to go to the Underworld and live amongst the Demons and the Devil himself, and try to reform and change the way things had been done for centuries to make it a "better" place for all involved, even those who were humans before they died and were sent there to be punished until the end of time. It was a mission that I didn't plan on failing, because I knew that if I did, then the worlds that I knew them as would fall into total darkness, where there would be nothing left to save, and only darkness would prevail.

I was an Angel living in the Underworld, somewhere that I never thought I would end up when I died and was sent to the High Heavens. I was an Angel with different skills because of my time in the High Heavens that the higher ups that I served thought would be able to use to "help" someone down there, someone that wouldn't admit that he needed help or needed a stable person that wouldn't fear him the way others feared him and had lived with him for many, many years. I was an Angel that lived as one of them, living as one of his mistresses and hiding the fact that I was an Angel, even though the main king himself, who was the one that needed help, and one of his trusted friends and comrades knew what I was. I was an Angel living in constant "fear" of being found out and not knowing what was going to happen to me after the fact, even though I knew, well hoped, that I would have the king's protection if I was ever found out by the majority of the people that lived there. I was an Angel that had a way out from the Underworld and back to the place where I used to belong if I ever needed it, but the only catch was the fact that I had to stay pure and "innocent" like I had lived and died. But that was difficult with a spark appearing between me and the man that I was there to help, to make sure that he stayed sane and able to live and keep his position as king of the Underworld. For I was to be known as the Devil's Angel...

Writing books has always come naturally to me. Romance novels were the main genre that caught my attention, and I was known for them, even though I was not known by face except for a few people who knew my true identity. I never thought a romance was in my future or that my life would become something like the novels I wrote, but when I met the man that I had "known" a long time ago in a different life than the one I lived now, working in a coffee shop and hiding from those who had known me as someone else, someone that hadn't been a published author but a child of twelve and the only daughter amongst sons. So when the man entered my life a second time, ordering a coffee for himself and not having someone else do it like normal, others started to enter my life, starting with another boy, turned man, that I hadn't seen in years and had been a family member of mine before I changed my identity and hidden in plain sight. With one coffee, man, and shop, my life changed for the better or worse. Only time will tell what love story I find myself in, and hopefully, it won't end in heartbreak.

She didn't know how she was able to talk to animals, for her biological parents had not been in her life, and she didn't remember anything about them. However, that hadn't stopped her from forming a family of her own, even though most of them had fur and four legs, with some having two legs and feathers. However, that all changed when something different, something magical, entered her something, something unexpected that she and her family and coworkers didn't know existed until one was brought in injured and alone. Could she find out why she could talk to animals with the unexpected friend she made? Could she survive whatever comes her way, or would she perish in a way she never thought possible?

I was destined to be a Dragon Rider since birth, even without having or finding my dragon at that age. I was destined to protect and serve not only my kingdom but also the other kingdoms that surrounded my kingdom, both supernatural creatures and humans alike. I was destined for greatness, or so I have been told, but that was something that I didn't understand or didn't care about at such a young age or even as I grew older until I became a young adult. And unfortunately, it was something that I should have listened to or asked questions to get myself prepared for whatever it was that I had to face. Because not only was I destined to be a Dragon Rider, but I was destined to be the Dragon Queen, for I was fated to the Dragon Prince, who was to be the Dragon King as soon as he claimed me as his own...
